I'm sure you'll all agree that 99% of commercials are almost embarrassingly unrealistic. But have you ever seen that Hallmark commercial where the kids are up in the attic going through all the Christmas ornaments, reminiscing about past Christmases and the memories tied to each of the ornaments? Well, that commercial--at least for me--is totally realistic. In fact, this evening, my kids and I could have been that commercial--except that we don't have an attic. But we took down and looked through several boxes of Christmas stuff --just as kind of a Christmas preview--and we all loved it. We even plugged in a few strands of lights to see if they worked. Nope. And despite the fact that those boxes are now back up in my closet, come November 27th, they'll ALL be coming out for good! For me, the countdown to the day I put up all the Christmas stuff is more exciting than the countdown to Christmas Day. Oh, that reminds me! I thought of a great business idea! I was thinking about the fact that as people get older, it becomes increasingly more difficult to get out and put up a Christmas tree, etc--especially if they no longer have children at home to do the work. And here in Florence, that's pretty much everyone. So I was thinking how fun it would be to start a Christmas decorating service where I could be hired to go to someone's home and get out and put up all of their Christmas stuff! Wouldn't that be fabulous? I could even include a take-down service after the holiday. I'm serious. I really think I could pay for Christmas this way. Anyway...

Annie I think you got a winner as far as the business goes. It is your perfect job! I'm tellin ya I'm not even old and I would have you come do my house. I love the look after it's done but I HATE doing it. I don't know why. It's just not my thing. So I say, bring on the Christmas Creator!!

You are genius. You can start with my house. The taking down part. =) You should do a Vegas installment of your favorite things sometime. I would totally invite myself!

A sappy Hallmark commersh? Haha that is awesome. Dude I keep wanting to put up Christmas decorations but my roommates all freak out and say that it's not allowed til after Thanksgiving. That only leaves one month to enjoy the decorations though! Psh.

ann. you are a mastermind. i was just telling john about the old ladies in the salon this past week. they were saying how they don't think they are going to put any decorations up this year because they don't have the energy or strength to do it!
maybe it's time to do some REAL business with those suckers.

Oh, Ann.

I wish I were still there. I would seriously do this for you. Do you know how much moolah you would make? You should tap into all the Anderson's friends. Those would be some serious decorations!

You'd be great at that, of course. And it wouldn't just be old people who would hire you - there are plenty of rich folks who don't want to be bothered but want the end result. Go for it, sister.

And I saw that you are expecting again! CONGRATS!

Ann, Happy Birthday!! :) I hope it is fabulous and you feel as loved today as you are by Heavenly Father and all your numerous family and friends!

....And Ann, congratulations!!!!! You may need the luck, but I guess I won't have to wish you blessings and wonder untold of all the delights a new one brings to the family. Once we have one, don't you just shutter at not having them in the fam!

P.S. Maybe mine and yours will be good buddies!!! Looks like I will be due a few weeks after you!!! :) My positive test showed up around the 20th or so????
